Now What? What Do Nigerians And Nigeria Do Now?

All well meaning Nigerians, at home and overseas, should begin to seriously seek solutions to the problems that we are so good at analyzing and commenting on, so expertly! We should progress from diagnosis of policies issues to providing solutions with our expertise, our money, our connections, with our lobby and clout with whomever and start from whatever levels we are individually. Now What? What Do Nigerians And Nigeria Do Now?

Analysis by various experts in so many fields of human endeavor have meticulously and scrupulously examined the challenges that Nigeria has faced in the past and the current and perhaps future challenges that Nigeria as a nation must deal with, in doing this, so many experts have lived-up to their credentialing as they demonstrated particular acumen in analyzing Nigeria’s differing political, economic, social, cultural and even religious issues, Some other “experts” have left so much to be desired, they have been morose in their perceptions and conclusions.

Therefore, it safe to state categorically, that many of the issues concerning all the aspects of human life in Nigeria, have been adequately analyzed and examined sufficiently, there has been varied degree of opinions and commentaries in that regard, I believe therefore that the time is now, to begin to ask, “Now What”? So what do we do now that the hospital is, so what that the school is, so what that the road to your town is …. Etc

It is my firm belief that Nigeria after the recently concluded electioneering campaign, the elections that followed and the successful inauguration and transition, it is clear now that the civilian to civilian transfer of power jinx have been broken, as a result, the economy and various policies that will make Nigeria a great country should now be, the focus of government and the focus of the citizenry

The idle chatter and hand wringing must stop!
For many years, (it feels more like for ever) We have engaged in over drive analysis and what I may even call “over-analysis-paralysis” Where the over-examination, actually gets in the way of decisive actions, analyzing any situation is, important, and all well and good, but it is quite a different thing to stifle progress dissipating one’s energy and to stymie action and growth or development, because we are busy analyzing situations, as opposed to proffering solutions and actually taking proactive and pre-emptive action at resolving potential policy conflict, snafus or policy ineffectiveness or inefficiencies and or both.

The reasons for my strong views regarding the need and urgency to shift our collective focus, because it is useless to a hungry man, to do him the disservice of adequately and eloquently describing his hunger for an extended period of time, and at the end, the other person providing the all-important analysis, has no food to personally offer, the hungry person and has no directions or sign-posts to guide the hungry to food or food.

In Nigeria’s case, some of the commentators actually more than adequately and eloquently describe Nigeria’s challenges and malaise; But however, there are also those commentators who do not even come close to appropriately describing Nigeria’s priorities and concerns! And the sad thing is that these are the largest segment of the self-appointed, self-imposed “experts” and “analyst” of everything Nigerian, as they simultaneously misdiagnose Nigeria, this broad misdiagnosis is or should be a crime and malpractice of journalism and public commentary.

On the other hand, the “good” and the “bad” commentators are frequently guilty of the same offense, which is, complaining without proffering solutions, making recommendations and any solutions to the challenges or malaise that supposedly afflicts the nation! National interests ought to trump any other consideration! We must act with passion and commitment for the benefit of Nigeria; It is in our collective interests!

It is time now, for all of us to get to work! There is no time like NOW! To make amends, the heavy lifting must begin! Nigeria’s 5 Rs Recovery, Revival, Reconstruction, Rebirth and Renaissance must begin today, it must begin from your hometown and mine, it must take off, with you and me! Nigeria’s greatness is unfolding InSha Allah.

God has always blessed Nigeria and will continue to do so, eve more abundantly!
